About the role

  • Portfolio Manager in Structured Credit team at Insight Investment managing US structured credit investments. Evaluating investment opportunities and collaborating with internal teams on compliance and trading.

Responsibilities

  • Review documentation and, in consultation with wider team, negotiate appropriate amendments with the Sell side.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements related to structured products and ensure that all investments are undertaken in a compliant manner.
  • Model new securities within our internal Portfolio Management system and other systems.
  • Use Intex to price, stress test, and analyse investments; build and maintain bespoke cashflow/analytical deal models in excel in cases where Intex model not available.
  • Help manage and co-ordinate new issue and secondary orders and trading including order allocations, bookings and any trade / booking enquires.
  • Produce daily spread and new issue reports to keep other team members informed of market conditions in sectors.
  • Help with the ongoing monitoring of investment holdings including updating and managing relevant reports and reporting tools.
  • Responding to internal and external enquires for focus sectors and managed accounts.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of presentations and pitches for external clients.
  • Support any other investment opportunities and investment management activities for the Secured Finance team from time to time as required.

Requirements

  • Relevant structured finance experience.
  • Experience at an asset management company or bank preferred.
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge across structured credit products and strong credit skills; with specific expertise in CMBS/commercial real-estate.
  • Strong grasp of legal structures and documentation.
  • Background in mathematics, finance, or economics ideal.
  • Strong Excel, Intex and Bloomberg skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • CFA is desirable.
  • Strong relationship skills and ability to work in fast paced environment in a constructive manner with colleagues, clients and external counterparties.
  • Confident in own abilities and able to respond to queries and challenge from colleagues, Sell-side and clients in a positive and risk aware manner.
  • Ability to articulate views and information clearly both verbally and in writing.
