Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex solutions across multiple systems, applying best practices in architecture, code, and public cloud.
• Act as a technical point of reference, removing blockers, supporting critical decisions, and ensuring quality through testing, observability, and continuous monitoring.
• Lead end-to-end deliveries, interact with external teams, respond quickly to incidents, and proactively act to prevent failures.

Requirements

• Proficiency in COBOL for development, maintenance, and modernization of programs in a mainframe environment.
• Strong knowledge of DB2, including data modeling, advanced SQL queries, performance tuning, and stored procedures.
• Experience with CICS for developing and supporting online transactions in mission-critical systems.
• Experience with JCL (Job Control Language) for executing, automating, and troubleshooting jobs in production.
• Ability to analyze, fix, and optimize legacy programs, ensuring performance and operational continuity.
• Experience integrating mainframe systems with other platforms, including APIs and middleware.
• Familiarity with version control (Endevor, Changeman, or Git in modern integrations).
• Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) applied to support and evolution of legacy systems.
• Skill in analyzing technical and business requirements, translating demands into effective mainframe solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot in production, quickly identifying and resolving incidents to ensure system stability.
