About the role

  • Lead and develop a team of Senior Engineers to deliver high-quality network designs and programmes.
  • Manage strategic programmes for OHL modernisation, storm resilience, and other critical initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
  • Drive innovation by introducing new technologies and solutions, supported by cost-benefit analysis.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety legislation.
  • Oversee contractor engagement and programme delivery without compromising safety or quality.
  • Contribute to long-term network planning and regulatory performance targets.

Requirements

  • Engineering or project/programme management background within the utilities, energy, or construction sectors.
  • Proven experience managing, motivating, and developing teams to deliver business outputs.
  • Strong project/programme management skills with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment, including output and incentive mechanisms.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills at all levels.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer service, efficient network design, and maximum return on investment.
