About the role

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and regularly support the Senior Tax Director to plan, organize and structure team operations related to the practice areas under your responsibility
  • Be accountable for the smooth running of operations related to the practice areas under your responsibility and escalate issues/opportunities/areas for improvement to the Senior Tax Director
  • Manage the workload and capacity of a team of tax professionals
  • Address and resolve operational issues with your team
  • Lead and oversee strategic tax initiatives and provide strategic recommendations to the Senior Tax Director
  • Establish and monitor performance indicators for the processes under your responsibility in alignment with strategic planning
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with our partners to understand their needs and provide the required support with the team to achieve corporate objectives
  • Optimize team members’ contributions to achieve business objectives in a collaborative, high-performance environment
  • Contribute to the business vision of the Executive Vice-President
  • Support and engage the team to foster synergy in achieving objectives
  • Participate in recruitment and selection processes and facilitate the integration of new employees
  • Evaluate the performance of employees under your responsibility, participate in setting annual objectives and identify training needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Law
  • Master’s degree in Taxation or an advanced ICCA tax course (in-depth tax course)
  • CPA designation (an asset)
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in corporate taxation (relevant experience in one or more of the practice areas under your responsibility is an asset)
  • Relevant experience managing teams
  • Ability to adapt quickly and flexibly to a constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships and manage a team effectively
  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams through change
  • Ability to work under pressure combined with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to develop high-performing teams: articulates the vision, develops resources through action and shares responsibilities with the team
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and find effective solutions
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills and strong attention to detail
  • Autonomy and initiative
  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written
  • Advanced knowledge of English.
