About the role
- Accountant 2 handling accounting activities and financial support at Humana. Ensuring integrity of financial records and compliance while supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
Responsibilities
- perform general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements
- conduct or assist in the documentation of accounting projects
- prepare, record, analyze and report accounting transactions
- ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
- provide financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget
- analyze and prepare statutory accounts, financial statements and reports
- understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives
- make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Related Field
- 2 - 5 years of Accounting/Finance related experience and/or recent graduate with intern experience
- Proficient in Excel
- Master's Degree in Business Administration or Master's Degree in Accounting (preferred)
- Certified Public Accountant license (preferred)
- Prior experience in public or corporate accounting (preferred)
- Strong technical accounting skills (preferred)
