Responsibilities
Leading mechanical design for new products and make improvements to existing products to ensure ACME maintains a strong cost position.
Developing concepts for new and revised products maximizing function, safety, features and user benefits while minimizing costs.
Interfacing directly with manufacturing team to resolve production issues.
Creating Bills of Material and Routings for products within SAP.
Participating in meetings as required to communicate and coordinate project among various internal departments.
Creating development and production drawings in SolidWorks.
Preparing product standards and specifications and obtaining agency listings as required (UL, etc.).
Updating Engineering documentation.

Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
8 years of experience in related industry (required)
Knowledge of production techniques, engineering materials, drafting and documentation procedures.
Good knowledge of various standard agencies like UL, etc. related to electrical products.
Must be self-motivated with a proven track record of application of mechanical design concepts.
Must be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base with unique Engineered to Order (ETO) products.
Proficient with SolidWorks or equivalent software.
Fluent with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Able to generate / read / interpret electrical schematics.

Experience with the mechanical design and manufacturing of sheet metal enclosures and steel structures
Experience in designing products to meet seismic requirements
Experience with advanced design methods including Finite Element Analysis
Experience in automating Engineering processes
Knowledge of Thermodynamic principles.
Familiarity with REACH, RoHS, and Prop65 regulations.
