About the role

  • Director for a sarcoma medical oncology program overseeing clinical activities and mentorship. Collaboration with faculty and submission of grant proposals at Emory University.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical activities of faculty members in the program
  • Provide general leadership, including service and education
  • Mentor junior members of the program
  • Encourage and facilitate academic development and promotion
  • Collaborate with related sub-specialists and investigators
  • Supervise practice operations
  • Work with nursing and administrative leaders
  • Represent the program in the broader Winship and Emory communities
  • Engage in relevant strategic initiatives
  • Submit grant & trial proposals
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and present work at (inter)national meetings
  • Supervise residents & HMO fellows

Requirements

  • Serve as Director for a disease program in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology (10% effort)
  • Oversee clinical activities of faculty members in the program
  • Provide general leadership, including service and education
  • Mentor junior members of the program
  • Collaborate with related sub-specialists and investigators
  • Supervise practice operations
  • Work with nursing and administrative leaders
