About the role

• Senior Backend Developer at Hob by Horse GmbH building scalable applications with PHP and Symfony. Responsible for agile development processes and plugin development in a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, scalable applications.
• Work with PHP, Symfony, Vue.js, Twig, HTML, CSS and JavaScript (ES6).
• Take responsibility for agile development, release and deployment processes (e.g., Git workflow).
• Independently develop custom plugins.
• Implement and maintain interfaces/APIs.
• Support and help develop colleagues in the Backend Development team.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming.
• Excellent skills in PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript (ES6).
• Solid experience with frameworks and technologies such as Symfony, Laravel, Doctrine ORM, Node.js, Vue.js, MySQL, MongoDB and RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency with PhpStorm, debugging and unit testing.
• Experience with project management tools like Jira and Confluence is an advantage.
• Ideally familiar with agile development methods such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Basic knowledge of e‑commerce systems such as Shopware, Oxid eSales, Ibexa or comparable platforms is helpful.
• A commitment to learning new technologies and continuously improving.
• A passion for clean, semantically correct source code.
