About the role

• Backend Developer fostering backend solutions with Kotlin and Spring Boot for VW Group. Participate in tech decisions and work collaboratively in a multicultural team.

Responsibilities

• Developing/deploying/maintaining a software backend solution with Kotlin and Springboot;
• Working in the context of automotive, you will use DevOps principles to create, test and deploy backend solutions as well as internal tools using modern cloud infrastructure;
• Actively contributing to tech and architecture decisions;
• Contributing with your team and other teams on all questions around development in an automotive environment;
• Working together with the team defining architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience;
• Relevant experience in the conception, design, and implementation of software solutions in an international and distributed context;
• 3–5 years of strong backend development experience using Kotlin and Spring Boot;
• Solid experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, with a strong focus on event-driven architectures, asynchronous communication, and system integration;
• Proven experience working with Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Cosmos DB;
• Hands-on experience with containerized applications and Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and operational concerns;
• Good understanding of software architecture and system design, including distributed systems, microservices, event-driven and serverless architectures;
• Practical knowledge of Serverless Architecture and cloud-native design principles;
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes;
• Familiarity with applications running under strict security constraints, including secrets and certificate management (nice to have: Azure Key Vault);
• Strong communication skills and good command of English, both written and spoken;
• Willingness to work in a multicultural, interdisciplinary, and balanced product team, collaborating closely with different roles.
