About the role

  • Purchasing Assistant at Coperion supporting procurement operations for German-speaking sites in Germany and Switzerland. Located in Ferrara, Italy with opportunities for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in purchasing machinery components and materials for our German-speaking Coperion locations, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Assist with tenders, price comparisons, and order processing.
  • Support price negotiations and contract finalizations within defined categories.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, tracking their progress to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier details, and order history.
  • Support the procurement team with administrative tasks, reporting, and data management.
  • Communicate and coordinate with relevant departments including Quality Assurance, Logistics, Planning, Accounting and Production.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.

Requirements

  • Fluent German skills (spoken and written) are mandatory.
  • Proficiency in English is also required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or sales.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of ERP systems (Navision, SAP, or IFS) is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills and keen attention to detail.
