About the role

  • Project Manager overseeing the operational aspects of ongoing projects at HII's Newport News Shipbuilding. Leading technology integration initiatives and coordinating project activities across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects
  • Serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients
  • Leads teams in the planning and execution of technology integration initiatives across the enterprise
  • Coordinates project activities, validates value propositions, and ensures business case rigor
  • Works closely with project leads, production trades, and value stream stakeholders to identify operational challenges and align mature technologies from the portfolio to practical shipbuilding applications
  • Supports the development of implementation strategies that enable successful deployment of technologies into production environments, ensuring alignment with program priorities, measurable value delivery, and sustained operational impact

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience
  • Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
