About the role

  • System Administration Support Technician maintaining multi-user systems for national defense training missions. Ensuring secure, reliable operations and supporting mission-critical networks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinating with network administrators.
  • Recommend hardware/software purchases, coordinate installation, and provide backup recovery.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for computing resource allocation.
  • Install, support, and maintain DTOC mission network servers, computer equipment, and peripherals.
  • Configure and manage software in compliance with STIGs, JSIG, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Plan for and respond to service outages and technical issues.
  • Collaborate on project teams to design and integrate OTTI technologies and DTOC solutions.
  • Provide application support for office automation tools and modeling & simulation (M&S) software.
  • Support HBSS, SIEM solutions, and continuous monitoring.
  • Implement workstation patches, security fixes, and service releases.
  • Identify, analyze, and document long-range requirements.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR 0 years of experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; OR 6 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma/equivalent.
  • Experience configuring software and performing configuration management in compliance with STIGs, JSIG, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience managing storage arrays, file and virtual machine backups.
  • Experience with Virtual Desktop Interface technologies, VMware, physical/virtual machines, and LANs.
  • Knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server)
  • Ability to update and patch Windows and Linux operating systems and applications in offline environments.
  • Ability to analyze network traffic and troubleshoot DIS/HLA packets using tools such as Wireshark or DPA.
  • General working knowledge of PowerShell and scripting.
  • Must have a current or active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to TS.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have a DoD IAT Level II certification or higher (e.g., Security+ or equivalent).
