Legal Intern assisting HealthPlanOne's legal team with research, documentation, and compliance tasks. Gaining valuable experience in a corporate legal environment focused on health insurance.
Responsibilities
Conduct legal research on labor and employment law, marketing law, privacy law, and contract law
Assist in preparing internal and external communications, including position statements, legal memos, reports, and presentations
Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
Help maintain legal records and databases, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws
Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, Finance, Compliance) to address legal inquiries
Provide administrative assistance to the Legal Team on a variety of projects
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Currently enrolled in law school
Currently reside in Connecticut
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Organized and detail oriented
Demonstrate passion for teamwork and success
Self-motivated and willing to contribute ideas
Ability to take ownership of projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable working in both a team environment and on solo projects
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Westlaw/LexisNexis
