About the role

  • Legal Intern assisting HealthPlanOne's legal team with research, documentation, and compliance tasks. Gaining valuable experience in a corporate legal environment focused on health insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research on labor and employment law, marketing law, privacy law, and contract law
  • Assist in preparing internal and external communications, including position statements, legal memos, reports, and presentations
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
  • Help maintain legal records and databases, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, Finance, Compliance) to address legal inquiries
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Legal Team on a variety of projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in law school
  • Currently reside in Connecticut
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Demonstrate passion for teamwork and success
  • Self-motivated and willing to contribute ideas
  • Ability to take ownership of projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working in both a team environment and on solo projects
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Westlaw/LexisNexis
