About the role

  • External auditor reviewing financial statements for various small and medium-sized clients. Collaborating with a team and providing comprehensive audit services in Hamburg's financial sector.

Responsibilities

  • You independently audit financial statements of small and medium-sized clients across a wide range of industries, and conduct audits of larger clients’ financial statements and consolidated financial statements together with a partner.
  • You have assistants available whom you instruct and coordinate.
  • Together you monitor the substantive workflow, formalities, deadlines and your budget.
  • You tailor your audit approach, checklists and audit program (AP-Comfort) individually to the requirements, client size and client structure.
  • You document processes, test them for effectiveness and audit the internal control system in accordance with legal requirements.
  • You act as a sparring partner for your clients, who can fully rely on your commitment, reliability and tailored advice.
  • If interested, you can perform special audits, e.g. energy law audits, packaging compliance audits, MABV audits (Broker and Developer Ordinance), and you are welcome to contribute to sustainability reporting.
  • You work approximately half of your time in the office and the other half at client sites (overnight stays limited to a maximum of 10%).

Requirements

  • Completed degree, e.g. in Business Law or Economics, preferably with a master’s degree.
  • At least 2–3 years of professional experience, e.g. in tax advisory, internal audit or external auditing.
  • Confident and highly motivated, you audit financial statements and client processes with your assistants, partly independently and partly together with a partner.
  • Client satisfaction is a given for you. With enthusiasm you adapt flexibly and individually to different personalities, situations and processes time and again.
  • You are passionate about continuously learning about different industries (e.g. retail, manufacturing, real estate developers, food, automotive, construction, industrial companies).
  • You are accustomed to working independently while complying with budgets, deadlines, formalities as well as substantive and legal requirements.
  • You have good German and English language skills.

Benefits

  • The opportunity to shape your responsibilities and the complexity of clients and industries together with your team.
  • A positive and collegial working atmosphere and a family-like company culture.
  • Home office by arrangement; if organising family matters or appointments becomes difficult, we find quick and uncomplicated solutions for you.
  • Various part-time models so you can perfectly reconcile work and private life.
  • Flexible working hours — specifically, you can choose when to work between 6:00 and 20:00 within our core working hours. (Core hours: Monday–Thursday 9:00–15:00; Friday 9:00–13:00.)
  • A market-competitive salary and a long-term secure position in a well-equipped firm.
  • A modern, digital workplace with height-adjustable desks and the latest IT equipment.
  • Internal and external training opportunities as well as financial and time support for your professional development.
  • Company events and celebrations, sports activities, team-building measures, bike leasing (JobRad), vouchers and discount offers.
