About the role

  • Editorial Intern supporting oncology content creation within Haymarket Medical Communications. Responsibilities include publishing in WordPress, writing for a physician audience, and assisting in editorial tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Publish and tag content in WordPress and related SEO content optimization efforts
  • Maintain workflow tracking systems and editorial calendars
  • Help generate, design, and integrate infographics and data visualizations across content
  • Assist in image selection for website and social media
  • Write news articles and long-form features for a physician audience in the field of oncology
  • Assist in identifying clinically relevant topics for coverage as news, features, guidelines, or unique content types across our brands
  • Attend CDC, FDA, Advisory, and conference meetings
  • Assist with identifying new avenues for clinician engagement

Requirements

  • Current college student pursuing a degree in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, English, communications, journalism, writing, publishing, or the biological sciences
  • Rising Junior or Senior preferred; interest in pursuing a career in publishing, medical communications, or medical information preferred
  • Previous experience in medical writing or medical editing preferred
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Enthusiastic about learning new things
  • Able to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Adaptable and able to manage a flexible workload
  • Able to work independently following instruction
  • Must provide own housing and transportation to and from work
