About the role

  • Communications Field Officer contributing to communication plans and maintaining target audience contacts. Supporting ICRC operations in relevant areas while ensuring visibility and networking.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the elaboration and implementation of communication plans.
  • Maintains contacts with target audiences such as communities, community leaders, civil society representatives and the authorities.
  • Contributes to the production of operational communication materials.
  • Works closely with ICRC staff in the field.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as communications, political science, international relations or journalism.
  • Fluent spoken and written English and/or French and, when applicable, the local language(s).
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a field relevant to communication and/or prevention (preferably with the ICRC).
  • Computer skills (proficiency in MS Office); familiarity with digital communication tools.
  • IHL knowledge an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of the political, social and media environment in the country/region covered.
