About the role
- Proposal Manager leading the development of winning proposals for Department of Defense and federal government customers. Requires strong skills in federal acquisition processes and proposal lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end proposal activities including schedule development, kickoff, compliance reviews, color team reviews, production and delivery.
- Orchestrate cross-functional proposal teams including capture managers, solution architects, SMEs, pricing and contracts to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Analyze RFPs/RFIs/SOWs to develop compliant outlines, content plans, and proposal strategies. Ensure strict adherence to solicitation requirements and internal quality standards.
- Contribute to proposal sections (management, past performance, executive summary, etc) and review drafts for clarity, consistency, and persuasiveness.
- Develop and maintain proposal templates, style guides, and content libraries. Recommend process improvements and tools to enhance proposal operations.
- Serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and partners/subcontractors. Facilitate effective communication to maintain alignment and momentum.
- Organize and lead Pink, Red, and Gold Team reviews; consolidate feedback and drive revisions to strengthen proposal quality.
- Support debriefs, lessons learned, and post-proposal assessments to inform continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance or higher.
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Business, Communications or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Five+ years of experience managing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFARS, and government proposal standards.
- Experienced with MS Office, SharePoint, Google Box, Adobe Acrobat, and proposal management tools
- Understanding and experience in Federal procurement process and regulations.
- Evidence of a successful track record of high-quality, high-scoring proposals.
- Ability to work both on a team and independently.
- Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Use of Generative AI tools to enhance and accelerate the proposal process is highly sought for this position.
