About the role

  • Senior Project Manager overseeing water/wastewater systems planning for the City of Hamilton. Leading design reviews and managing consultant contracts for LRT infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to staff and consultants within a Business Unit
  • Review and approve water and wastewater infrastructure designs
  • Ensure designs are cost effective, efficient, and timely
  • Develop preliminary design for LRT corridor
  • Oversee collection of data, review work produced by consultants, and address stakeholder concerns
  • Mentor staff and provide day to day guidance
  • Monitor and report Sectional key performance indicators

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of Civil Engineering and/or Environmental Science
  • Membership with Professional Engineers of Ontario or Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists preferred
  • Knowledge of municipal water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure planning and systems design
  • Knowledge of the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Ontario Water Resources Act
  • Knowledge of the (Ontario) Planning Act, Provincial Policy Statement and Building Code Act
  • Proven knowledge of the environmental assessment process
  • Previous project management experience in a wastewater environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
  • Valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence and provision of a vehicle for use on the job
