About the role

  • Manager overseeing Transit Support Services for Hamilton's public works. Leading Fare Revenue program and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Fare Revenue program and the general administration of the Division
  • Keep the Section current on existing and emerging acts, regulations and legislation
  • Lead, research, survey, consult, author and present recommendation reports
  • Manage all aspects of staff performance and change
  • Manage fare and cash administration activities
  • Implement smartcard technologies advances
  • Manage bus driving related training activities
  • Administer contracts including University/College Bus Pass contracts and PRESTO Operating Agreement
  • Lead development of detailed analysis of data and processes
  • Prepare reports and presentations to various stakeholders
  • Liaise and consult with peers and levels of government
  • Develop tenders, evaluate submissions and oversee consultant work
  • Facilitate public meetings and planning sessions
  • Design education material and programs for the community

Requirements

  • Considerable municipal government experience directly related to public service delivery preferred
  • Extensive business analysis, project management experience
  • Extensive financial analysis, budget development and forecasting experience
  • An effective communicator, both orally and written
  • Highly effective leadership, facilitation, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • Ability to learn and work with custom software applications
