About the role
- Forward Deployed Engineer bridging product, engineering, and operational excellence at hallo theo. Collaborating closely with regional teams to develop production-ready solutions for property management.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end solutions for our property management teams across Germany – from discovery and solution design through implementation, rollout, monitoring and iteration
- Design and build integrations and extensions on top of our platform (APIs, data pipelines, configuration, custom logic) that are reliable, secure and maintainable
- Serve as the technical partner for our regional teams, collaborating with Product and Operations to clarify requirements, manage risks and keep projects on track
- Translate frontline operational challenges into product insights – shaping our roadmap with clear problem statements, edge cases and data-backed learnings from the field
- Continuously improve our playbooks and tooling so future rollouts are faster, safer and more repeatable
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience as a Product Engineer / Software Engineer working on production systems (ideally in SaaS or platform products)
- Strong experience with modern web backends and APIs (e.g., REST/GraphQL, event-driven systems, cloud-native architectures)
- Proven track record of customer-facing work: implementations, integrations, solution engineering or similar
- Ability to scope and slice work, manage technical trade-offs and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in discovery mode: ambiguity, incomplete specs, and iterating quickly with customers
- Native-level or very strong German (min. C1) and very good English
