About the role

  • Reporting Analyst focused on energy trading and data analytics at Habitat Energy, supporting internal and external reporting initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing market data from multiple sources including power markets, operational telemetry, commodity markets, and energy trading platforms
  • Generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports via automation related to commercial activity, financial and managerial performance, asset reporting, and operational performance
  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing automated reporting tools and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintaining ongoing shadow settlement and P&L reports for current ERCOT operations, with additional RTO/ISO markets likely to be added in the future
  • Monitoring and documenting market changes affecting settlement processes, and implementing necessary updates to relevant files
  • Supporting departmental initiatives by contributing to project requirements, tracking the status of ongoing projects, and performing UAT
  • Providing subject matter expertise in cross functional projects, performing ad hoc analysis and reporting

Requirements

  • 3+ years using SQL and writing advanced queries
  • Understanding of adjacent concepts such as data warehousing, ETL processes, data visualization, and the software development lifecycle
  • Bachelor's degree in analytics, finance, engineering, or other related fields
  • Energy experience: wholesale energy markets (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, etc.), or development/management of renewable generation projects or energy infrastructure
