About the role

  • IT Project Manager at Guidehouse leading governance processes for public diplomacy technology portfolio. Overseeing IT governance lifecycle, project management, and strategic alignment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Guidehouse is hiring an IT Project Manager to join one of our Department of State teams to lead and enhance governance processes across the public diplomacy technology portfolio.
  • This role will be pivotal in driving strategic alignment, process improvement, and lifecycle management for IT governance.
  • The candidate will work with government counterparts to work on high-impact projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee the monitoring and continuous improvement of the IT governance lifecycle, ensuring alignment to CPIC, federal IT management, and organizational strategic priorities.
  • Lead IT project management activities across the portfolio, including development of project plans, schedules, dependencies, requirements, risk registers, and change-control processes.
  • Drive CPIC activities such as investment planning, business case development, budget submissions, and performance tracking in accordance with federal and agency guidance.
  • Develop, refine, and report on metrics and key performance indicators to support executive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders, document system/business requirements, and support traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project and portfolio-level risks; recommend mitigation strategies; and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Support the integration of TBM practices to improve transparency into IT spend, cost modeling, and value management.
  • Provide strategic insights to align projects with evolving organizational goals and ensure the technology portfolio delivers measurable mission impact.
  • Collaborate with government counterparts and cross-functional teams to drive process improvement and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field.
  • FIVE (5) or more years of experience in IT Project Management roles, including managing complex, multi-stakeholder technology initiatives.
  • Expertise in federal IT governance and CPIC processes.
