About the role
- Head of Accounting leading a team in financial accounting. Overseeing HGB and IFRS compliance for a global service provider in Köln.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Accounting department (10 FTE)
- Functional and disciplinary leadership of the accounting team (general ledger and sub-ledger)
- Define and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Prepare and support the harmonization and further development of monthly and quarterly financial statements under HGB and IFRS, including balance sheet, profit & loss and cash flow statements
- Responsible for the timely preparation of annual financial statements under HGB and IFRS
- Close collaboration with other departments
- Develop and optimize relevant accounting systems and processes
- Main contact for auditors and tax advisors
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration / Finance or a comparable qualification including further training with a focus on accounting
- Solid knowledge and practical experience in financial statement preparation under HGB and IFRS and several years of professional experience in accounting
- Experience in leading and developing employees
- Confident English skills (minimum B2) written and spoken
- Interest in and/or experience with process optimization and change management
- High level of responsibility, strong conceptual skills and service orientation
- Ideally experience with SAP R/3 and/or SAP S/4HANA
