About the role
- Senior Manager responsible for inbound operations in a high volume distribution center at Grainger. Overseeing leadership and compliance in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the inbound operations of a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center.
- Provide direct leadership of up to 4 exempt direct reports and indirect leadership of a large non-exempt employee population.
- Oversee the function to ensure accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources and processes while operating within budget.
- Develop processes to ensure compliance and employee programs to promote an environment where employees are empowered, and committed to the success of Grainger.
- Responsible for metrics affecting safety, quality, and cost.
- Teach your direct reports how to improve performance using a variety of continuous improvement techniques.
- Determine the engagement strategy for the department and leverage the Grainger Principles to influence culture throughout the building.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations
- 5+ years progressively responsible management experience in a high volume, multi-shift operation dealing with large employee populations.
- Experience leading exempt-level leaders in a hands-on environment
