About the role
- Solutions Engineer responsible for RPA development within Financial Shared Services at Grainger. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance automation and efficiency in processes.
Responsibilities
- The Solutions Engineering will be responsible for design; development, testing and implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) bot's that will interact with multiple systems applications.
- Act as a process business owner and automation subject matter expert (SME).
- Consulting internal business leaders on complex projects, leveraging business teams, IT partners and automation resources.
- Own partnership with cross-functional business team, IT and support team to ensure consistent, beneficial internal customer interaction and solution delivery.
- Participate and present data to business leaders during requirements and post audit reviews.
- Lead direct efforts to define technical, operational and user requirements.
- Responsible of leading training and onboarding of new team members of the automation team.
- Troubleshoot and anticipate any issues to avoid risk and reduce business impact.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in existing process and automate multiple processes using RPA software.
- Fine tune performance and operation issues that arise with RPA Bots.
- Provide on-going operational support including upgrades, defect fixes and any process change activities.
- Develops system requirements, designing, testing RPA, and supporting implementation.
- Develops and configures automation processes as per the technical design document to meet the defined requirements.
- Present complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both orally and in written form.
- Report's status, issues and risks to business leads and Automation Manager on a regular basis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field is required.
- 3+ years experience leading workstreams is required.
- 3+ years of experience leading systems projects, being able to lead project effort during development is required.
- 3+ years experience working and supporting Shared Services operations is required.
- 2+ years of experience in programming (.NET, Java, ETL etc.)
- Minimum of 1 process automation, using one of the industry leading Robotics Automation (RPA) platforms: Automation Anywhere, BluePrism and/or UI Path.
- Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages such as MS Excel, MS Visio, MSAccess & MS Word.
- Demonstrated experience in application development, code development, application testing, component design, and solid understanding of programming concepts.
- Comfort with pressure and managing conversations with business leaders across Financial Shared Services.
- Strong in requirement gathering and analysis (ability to work with a structured and methodical approach, combined with an enquiring mind).
- Experience with Agile.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
