About the role

  • Director, Technology Strategy & Operations at Goodwin managing operational budgets and driving cross-functional initiatives. Collaborating with leadership to ensure alignment of strategies and objectives in a global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Chief Digital & Technology Officer to develop, communicate, and execute departmental strategies and priorities
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure alignment with firm-wide objectives
  • Monitor progress on strategic projects, proactively identify risks, and recommend solutions
  • Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and executive summaries for leadership meetings
  • Coordinate and facilitate decision-making processes, ensuring timely follow-up and accountability
  • Represent the Chief Digital & Technology Officer in meetings and communications as delegated
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and information flow
  • Draft and disseminate communications on behalf of department leadership
  • Oversee the implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Lead efforts to improve operational effectiveness and organizational culture
  • Support talent management activities, including onboarding, training, and team development
  • Assist with portfolio management activities, including tracking milestones, supporting documentation, and facilitating communication among project teams and stakeholders
  • Independently manage and reconcile operational and capital budgets, including monthly reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm policies
  • Process, track, and maintain vendor agreements, contracts, and invoices
  • Provide high-level administrative support to department leaders, resolve operational issues, and escalate as necessary
  • Schedule and coordinate department meetings, and project reviews
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and support technology adoption within the department
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports to inform executive decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years prior experience as a department administrator or executive or administrative assistant working in a global professional services environment
  • Familiarity with legal industry regulations, IT systems, and professional services operations is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and financial reporting in a fast-paced, matrixed, global business
  • Experience processing and tracking vendor contracts, agreements, and invoices
  • Strong portfolio management skills, including deadline tracking and milestone reporting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to independently learn and adopt new technologies to enhance productivity and work product
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interact with all levels of the firm and external partners with professionalism and discretion
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrates a positive, client-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
