About the role

  • CAE Engineer in the Crash and Safety team at General Motors focusing on virtual simulations for vehicle development. Responsible for modeling plans, simulation strategies, and collaboration with technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and communicate modeling plans and simulation strategies (FEA) to the engineering organization.
  • Create and execute Finite Element Analysis (FEA) plans for assigned components and subsystems.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of finite element models within the team.
  • Evaluate simulation results, interpret trends, balance requirements, and recommend technical solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, technicians, suppliers, and leadership teams.
  • Support the introduction of new tools, processes, and simulation methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Computer Science Engineering.
  • Strong experience with commercial CAE tools for pre/post-processing and solvers, such as: LS-DYNA (highly preferred) NASTRAN ANSYS Abaqus or other similar FEM tools
  • Relevant experience applying CAE methods in product development.
  • Solid understanding of simulation workflows in Safety (Crash) or Durability is a plus.
  • Advanced English (required for global collaboration).
  • Experience in the automotive industry (highly valued).
  • Experience in Tier 1 suppliers or engineering consulting (strongly considered).
