About the role

  • Vice President – Operations leading Defence, Aerospace, and National Security engagements for a global technology enterprise. Ensuring on-time delivery and operational excellence across mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of strategic Defence and cybersecurity programs including planning, execution, tracking, and closure.
  • Drive milestone-based delivery with rigorous governance, ensuring schedule adherence, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead Program Management Office (PMO) cadence: reviews, dashboards, escalation mechanisms, and outcome reporting to leadership.
  • Build and optimize scalable operational processes for delivery, resource planning, documentation, compliance, and vendor management.
  • Establish execution standards and playbooks for deployment of cybersecurity solutions (SOC, monitoring platforms, cyber tools, appliances).
  • Ensure operational readiness for deployments, handovers, training, and sustainment support.
  • Translate Defence operational needs into execution plans while ensuring alignment with cybersecurity requirements and implementation realities.
  • Ensure strong compliance practices across sensitive projects (security protocols, access control, asset custody, audit readiness).
  • Coordinate with internal cyber engineering teams to ensure secure architecture, implementation assurance, and validation.
  • Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams including program managers, project engineers, logistics, QA, deployment,
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, InfoSec, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and HR to ensure smooth program execution.
  • Manage external stakeholders: Defence client teams, OEMs, system integrators, third-party partners.
  • Provide oversight or coordination for programs involving embedded platforms such as secure appliances, edge systems, rugged compute, or mission devices.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure integration, deployment constraints, and operational support models are addressed.
  • Own risk registers and mitigation plans; ensure early warning systems and proactive issue resolution.
  • Define quality gates and acceptance criteria for deliveries including FAT/SAT, documentation, and compliance checks.
  • Ensure governance mechanisms are followed across project lifecycle: change control, documentation, approvals, and sign-offs.

Requirements

  • Defence / Armed Forces / Defence PSU / Defence contracting background strongly preferred
  • 10–18+ years overall experience with significant leadership experience in operations, program delivery, or mission-critical execution
  • Proven track record managing high-stakes, multi-year, multi-vendor projects
  • Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity domains such as SOC operations, cyber defence tools, secure architecture, incident response lifecycle, etc.
  • Experience working with structured project management practices (Agile / Hybrid / Waterfall)
  • Exceptional leadership, decision-making, stakeholder management, and crisis handling abilities.
