About the role
- Join GKN Aerospace as a Sr. Component Data Specialist focusing on sustainable aircraft EWIS. Support engineering teams by managing compliance data and documentation through regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of next-generation Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for sustainable aircraft
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and end‑to‑end traceability across all engineering databases
- Manage component information and regulatory compliance documentation
- Monitor evolving global regulations and assess their strategic impact on EWIS materials
- Drive continuous improvement in data quality, documentation standards, and compliance workflows
- Execute methods plans, toolsets and approaches that are appropriate and compliant to achieve design and programme objectives
Requirements
- Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in EEE, ECE, Electronics & Instrumentation, Telecommunication or equivalent
- Advanced technical background in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, or a closely related field
- 10-16 years’ experience in Aerospace standard electrical component data and Material compliance
- Experience with EWIS components (cables, connectors, harness parts, back shells, switches, relays, modules, loose parts etc) is a strong advantage
- Proven expertise in global material compliance regulations, documentation frameworks, and aerospace customer requirements
- Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems and engineering data management
- Ability to optimize data workflows, templates, and digital processes
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, supply chain, and quality functions
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical specifications
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Effective communication with design engineering & manufacturing engineering
- Good technical report writing skills
