About the role

  • Technical Buyer responsible for international material procurement for projects in engineering. Involved in supplier negotiations, overseeing delivery timelines, and ERP system maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for procuring materials for our projects
  • Independently handle international material procurement
  • Participate in negotiating framework agreements nationally and internationally
  • Optimize the supplier portfolio
  • Evaluate quotations and perform value-analysis assessments
  • Monitor and track delivery dates
  • Maintain the ERP system: create and update master data
  • Create and maintain articles and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Serve as point of contact for suppliers regarding inquiries and orders
  • Material planning and inventory optimization
  • Process and review design documentation – interface between engineering/design and production
  • Create and review bills of materials and work plans

Requirements

  • Successfully completed technical training or qualification
  • Knowledge in machining (metal cutting), welding, and assembly technology
  • Confident user of MS Office and experience working with ERP systems
  • Good communication skills and a hands-on mentality
  • Confident in reading technical drawings
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Prior experience in shipbuilding/hydraulics is advantageous
