Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth knowledge and guidance on general accounting principles and practices
- Ensure compliance with GAAP
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions
- Lead month-end / quarter-end and year-end close processes
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
- Provide training and mentorship to accounting staff on general accounting principles and practices
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in general accounting, with a focus on complex accounting principles and practices
- Proven experience in financial transaction processing and policy development
- Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
