About the role

  • Software Automation Tester responsible for quality and performance testing of applications at GeoSoftware. Collaborating with teams to develop automated test cases and enhance testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Testing, evaluating, and advocating for the quality and performance of GeoSoftware applications
  • Contributing to the automation testing strategy, developing and executing automated test cases
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets quality and usability standards
  • Identifying opportunities for automation, maintaining and enhancing existing test frameworks
  • Ensuring continuous integration pipelines are robust and reliable
  • Driving quality improvements, reducing manual testing efforts, and accelerating release cycles
  • Contributing to automation test documentation (strategy, plans, cases)
  • Designing, authoring, and executing automated functional test cases
  • Identifying, documenting, and verifying defects
  • Creating and managing test data for automation
  • Analyzing and communicating incomplete requirements
  • Automating manual test cases within a framework
  • Providing test estimates and reviewing test artifacts
  • Working within Agile/Scrum cycles
  • Following and evolving automation testing standards
  • Collaborating with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Software Engineers, and Product Managers
  • Communicating suggestions to improve automation processes
  • Advocating for customer needs and product quality
  • Presenting automation execution reports and updates
  • Understanding complex technical areas
  • Prioritizing tasks with competing demands
  • Acting as a knowledge point for automation investigations
  • Identifying and communicating testing risks
  • Proposing solutions for continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree/Technical Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in software test automation
  • Experience with various automation testing methodologies, including automation frameworks and tools, with exposure to manual testing practices
  • Experience with coding in any language
  • Familiarity with test management and automation tools
  • Experience generating GUI automation scripts
  • Proficiency with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira)
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Background in desktop application development
  • Strong English communication (written and verbal)
