About the role
- Lead Data Manager managing high-quality genomic data for AI-enhanced drug discovery and preventive healthcare. Oversee data governance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Research and secure new genomic data opportunities that align with our business needs.
- Write a Python script to pull data from a GWAS or integrate metadata from disparate systems into our cloud architecture.
- Act as the "gatekeeper," evaluating complex datasets for licensing issues and ensuring privacy standards (TREs) are met before they reach our customers.
- Partner with stakeholders to bridge the gap between to ensure seamless ingestion.
Requirements
- Proven experience with global bodies such as UK Biobank, DB GAP, or EGA, and a deep understanding of data modelling and governance.
- Investigatory mindset, able to look at a dataset and identify potential privacy or licensing roadblocks before they become issues.
- Highly skilled in Python and understand the nuances of compute architecture and cloud systems.
- Hold a PhD in a genomic discipline (or equivalent industry experience) and can speak the language of Stat Gen and Bioinformatics.
