Responsibilities
Own internal platform tooling that enables hundreds of developers to deploy, operate, and scale services across global Genesys Cloud regions.
Build reliable automation, APIs, and developer experiences that improve deployment velocity, reduce operational risk, and strengthen service health at scale.
Partner across engineering teams to influence platform standards and deliver improvements that make day to day development and operations faster and safer.
Build and evolve internal tooling and services that streamline deployments, health checks, and operational workflows across multiple worldwide locations.
Design and maintain REST APIs and backend services in Python that enable self service platform capabilities for engineering teams.
Improve reliability and performance through pragmatic architecture enhancements, capacity planning, and scalability focused changes.
Implement and maintain unit and integration tests to increase confidence, reduce regressions, and support continuous delivery.
Strengthen observability by enhancing metrics, logging, and alerting to improve mean time to detect and mean time to recover.
Provide thoughtful code reviews and technical guidance that raises quality and consistency across services.
Collaborate with cross functional platform stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and drive alignment on shared standards.
Partner effectively with remote team members to deliver highly available, secure, and scalable features from design through production.
Requirements
4+ years of professional software development experience after completing formal education
Authorization to work in Canada on a permanent basis without current or future employer sponsorship
Strong backend engineering experience with Python, REST API design, and production grade service development
Experience building distributed systems with a practical understanding of scalability, availability, and fault tolerance
Hands on experience with AWS services such as DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, and CloudFormation
Experience with REST API frameworks such as Flask, Django, or equivalent
Experience with NoSQL data stores and designing data models for performance and operational simplicity
Working knowledge of CI/CD and automation tools such as Jenkins and Ansible
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and time zones.
