About the role
- Manager overseeing leadership protection and event security for GEICO. Responsible for security planning, threat analysis, and incident management during company events.
Responsibilities
- Create and carry out detailed security plans for each event, including risk evaluations, staff requirements, and emergency response strategies.
- Responsible for developing and implementing protocols to ensure the safety of clients and associates at events.
- Oversee thorough screening procedures for all event guests.
- Manage projects and security assessments related to events.
- Travel ahead of events to conduct in-depth security surveys at all locations, establishing necessary contacts and arrangements for guest safety.
- Analyze potential threats by thoroughly monitoring and assessing multiple platforms.
- Maintain close relationships with Events teams, coordinating directly with Intelligence, Threat Management, and Regional Security Teams.
- Work alongside event planners, local law enforcement, and venue partners.
- Remain vigilant and ready to respond to security situations around the clock during events.
- Design and implement both short- and long-term threat management, intelligence, prevention, and security strategies to protect Geico Associates.
- Ensure all security activities meet legal and regulatory standards, while maintaining awareness of advancements in security technology and practices to improve safety measures.
- Act as the central contact for security incidents, leading resolutions efficiently and keeping Security Leadership informed.
- Build strong connections with key business stakeholders, as well as local and federal law enforcement agencies.
- Carry out projects and assessments concerning the security of the senior leadership team.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in corporate security, leadership/executive protection, and event management.
- Proven leadership with ability to communicate (written and verbally) with all levels of the organization.
- Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating with private security and international, federal, state, and local first responder agencies.
- Critical thinking under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated/self-starter.
- AED/CPR/ First Aid and STB Certified. Must be obtained within 6 months of hiring.
- Strong technical understanding of threat actor motives, tactics, and defense strategies.
- Collaborative skills working across technical and non-technical teams.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed and travel up to 50% of the time.
