  • Associate Counsel defending lawsuits filed in Pennsylvania courts for GEICO. Responsibilities include legal research, preparing briefs, and handling depositions in complex cases.

Responsibilities

  • Defend lawsuits filed in Pennsylvania courts
  • Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
  • Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
  • Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial

Requirements

  • 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
  • Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar REQUIRED
  • Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Pennsylvania
  • Must be able to travel as required
  • Must be able to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner
  • Must be able to follow complex instructions and resolve conflicts
