About the role

  • Senior Contract Manager managing contractual activities for Grid Solutions projects. Collaborating with project teams to ensure compliance and resolution of contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis of the contract and, together with the Project Director, develop the project’s contract and commercial strategy.
  • Present the contractual analysis and commercial execution strategy to the Project Team; prepare and issue the Contract Questionnaire, Contract Commercial Plan (CCP) and other contract analysis deliverables in accordance with Contract Management processes.
  • Implement contractual procedures, particularly for claims, insurance, variation orders, correspondence and notifications.
  • Identify contractual obligations of our company, the customer/consortium and other third parties, and develop and implement the Project contract commercial plan, including the project’s claims strategy.
  • Proactively support identification and analysis of project risks and opportunities.
  • Assume responsibility for all project contractual activities from handover from Sales until all contractual obligations are fulfilled and all contractual issues are resolved or settled.
  • Ensure that notices are served in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Proactively manage claims to/from customers, subcontractors/suppliers and partners, including negotiations and settlements.
  • Manage project variation requests/orders.
  • Manage project insurances: ensure insurance coverage complies with the contract; submit, monitor and settle insurance claims in accordance with policies.
  • When requested, provide support, guidance and training to the Project team on general contractual matters.
  • Clarify contractual/legal enquiries and, when necessary, refer to Legal.
  • Support the Sales team during the tender phase, including drafting contract qualifications and participating in contract negotiations.
  • Provide support in the event of disputes.
  • Report on project claims and variations, as well as potentially critical contract issues, to management and, as required, to project controls, finance and audit teams.
  • Submit reports to management for approval of variation orders, amendments and settlements in accordance with the applicable Delegation of Authority.

Requirements

  • Proven experience and track record in claim preparation and negotiation (EOT claims, global claims, contract renegotiations, etc.)
  • Knowledge of delay analysis principles (critical path analysis, concurrent delay principles, etc.)
  • Understanding of contract law
  • Understanding of project risk management
  • Technical understanding relevant to projects
  • Experience in high-level negotiations
  • Extensive hands-on contract management experience in complex infrastructure projects (power generation and power transmission preferred)
  • Experience with NEC and FIDIC contract models
  • University degree in engineering, quantity surveying, business administration or law
  • Accountability and a strong say/do mindset
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize work and liaise with relevant stakeholders to collect required information
  • Influencing skills and intercultural awareness; able to work effectively in a team.
