Application Engineer position focusing on technical support for contract acquisition in GE Vernova's EMS division. Involved in client interactions, technical negotiations, and market trend analyses.
Responsibilities
Read, understand and interpret customer specifications in order to propose our best solution based on our portfolio of structured solutions and products
Prepare clear and concise technical proposals, including any deviations from customer requirements
Travel within France and internationally on short trips to visit customers as part of bid processes or pre-sales activities, understand and analyze their needs, and present our solutions
Lead technical negotiation meetings with customers
Prepare cost breakdowns for proposed solutions with support from key contributors such as Purchasing and Engineering
Optimize costs by challenging contributors (technically and financially) and by refining solutions
Meet bid submission deadlines as far as reasonably possible
Provide technical expertise and support to sales teams (Sales Managers) and Commercial Operations Managers by selecting, implementing, and developing competitive solutions
Identify technical risks and work with Engineering to mitigate them in accordance with GE Vernova procedures
Proactively stay up to date on market trends and requirements and act as the “voice of the Customer” to strategically influence GE Vernova’s product and system development needs
Requirements
Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Electrical Engineering / Electrotechnics / Power Electronics / Control Engineering (Automation)
Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in electrical, automation, or power electronics fields
Ability to work autonomously in a matrix organization
Knowledge of industrial environments is a plus
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple topics and/or several different bids in parallel
Good written and verbal communication skills
Fluent English is mandatory
Willingness to travel internationally to support commercial activities
