About the role
- Principal Cloud Developer developing cloud solutions for GDIT's government projects. Responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructures while collaborating with diverse teams.
Responsibilities
- Designs, architects, deploys and maintains cloud solutions
- Maintains the integrity and security of systems
- Maintains all documentations
- Supports and develops automation
- Develops in languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python
- Maintains/enhances knowledge of AWS cloud services
- Monitors and tunes the cloud systems to achieve optimum performance levels
- Works across teams and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams during infrastructure buildouts
- Deals with escalations. Makes assessments, recommendations, or provides solutions to resolve issues
- Composes and maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions, knowledge articles, et al
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant computer-based major strongly preferred
- 5+ years of related experience with AWS cloud computing required
- 7+ years of total IT experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Bash, PowerShell, or Python
- Development background in Node.JS and React.JS
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization
- Must be able to pass a background check to obtain and maintain a position of Public Trust
