About the role

  • International Operations Specialist developing and executing logistics strategies for member sport organizations. Handling import/export processes and client relationships in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • The International Operations Specialist plays an integral role in developing and executing an overall logistics strategy to meet the diverse needs of member sport organizations, and partners.
  • Coordinates and manages the end-to-end import/export processes, ensuring timely movement of a client’s goods across different countries and regions, while providing exceptional customer service in promptly and professionally addressing client inquiries and concerns.
  • Manages relationships with international carriers, negotiates rates and secures optimal shipping options for clients.
  • Collaborates with various departments, including finance and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Arranges domestic and international import/export shipments via air, trucking and ocean.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with smaller ad hoc clients and larger assigned accounts to provide superior logistics service and develop client loyalty for long-term business.
  • Communicates and collaborates with project stakeholders, clients and vendors to understand their shipping requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Prepares and processes the necessary documents and paperwork for the import and export of goods, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
  • Coordinates with customs authorities to ensure compliance with import/export regulations and documentation.
  • Proactively identifies cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements in import/export processes; stays informed on international trade regulations changes and industry trends.
  • Resolves any customs clearance or transportation issues during the international shipping process, such as delays, damages, losses, or disputes to maintain the integrity of the supply chain.
  • Evaluates and optimizes the efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of the international shipping process, as well as identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.
  • Manage daily activities, associated trackers, while optimizing delivery scheduling and plan, and organizing and supervising on-site labor force.
  • Monitors, measures, manages and reports on event/project performance.

Requirements

  • 2-3 Year’s Related Experience is preferred
  • No previous logistics experience is required if the candidate has the propensity to grasp operational processes and procedures
  • Enjoy and comfortable working in a customer service role
  • Advanced computer skills including programs such as Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet and Outlook
  • Must be open to change and an advocate for continuous improvement.
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; especially in project management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be results-oriented and willing to take ownership of all assigned projects
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
