About the role

Responsibilities
- Actively shaping the future of paper processing machines within the Research & Development department
- Integrating new concepts, sensors, motion control systems and modern user-interface concepts into machine control
- Designing software architectures and selecting appropriate approaches for modular, maintainable and scalable solutions
- Developing tools and utilities — e.g., in Python or C# — that facilitate development and commissioning processes
- Ensuring smooth technical coordination and collaboration between R&D, process engineering and the software department
Requirements
- Degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a comparable qualification
- Strong experience in PLC programming, preferably with Siemens TIA Portal
- Good knowledge of special-purpose machinery as well as industrial sensor and measurement technology
- Proficiency in high-level programming languages, software architectures and version control systems
- Enjoys diving deeply into control systems and analyzing the interaction between physical systems and software
