Responsibilities

  • We are looking for an experienced **Senior Financial Controller** to join our internal finance team at fundcraft. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls while leading a small team of accountants. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, maintaining compliance with ES and Lux GAAP, and supporting strategic decision-making through timely and reliable financial reporting.
  • **What You'll Do****Financial Accounting & Compliance**
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in compliance with ES and Lux GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • **Financial Reporting**
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate internal financial reporting to management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual audits and interim reviews.
  • **Tax & Regulatory Compliance**
  • Oversee corporate tax, VAT, and other tax filings, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for tax authorities and external tax advisors.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the business.
  • **Treasury & Cash Management**
  • Ensure proper cash flow management and optimize working capital.
  • Supervise bank reconciliations and treasury transactions.
  • Support in FX risk management and banking relationships.
  • **Process & Control Oversight**
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements.
  • Drive automation and efficiency improvements in financial processes.
  • **Team Leadership & Management**
  • Lead, mentor, and oversee the work of two accountants.
  • Ensure proper task allocation, training, and development of the accounting team.
  • Review and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing performed by the team.
  • **Cross-Functional Collaboration**
  • Work closely with FP&A to ensure accurate financial planning and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance on financial and regulatory matters.
  • Support operational teams with financial insights related to accounting and tax.

Requirements

  • **Experience & Background**
  • Solid experience in finance/accounting roles.
  • 3–5 years of Audit experience (Big 4 preferred) or strong exposure to audits in a corporate role.
  • Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, or Head of Accounting in a financial services or regulated environment is a plus.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a small accounting team (ideally 2+ accountants).
  • **Education & Certifications**
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • **Technical Skills**
  • Strong knowledge of ES and/or Lux GAAP.
  • Experience with tax compliance (corporate tax, VAT, and regulatory reporting).
  • Familiarity with consolidation, multi-entity structures, and intercompany transactions.
  • Experience in audit coordination and working with external auditors.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting tools and ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Odoo, or similar).
  • **Soft Skills & Competencies**
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management (working with auditors, tax advisors, and senior leadership).
  • Ability to implement and improve internal controls and financial processes.
  • Experience managing deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus.
  • **Nice-to-Have**
  • Experience in a regulated financial services company.
  • Knowledge of treasury and cash flow management.
  • Some exposure to FP&A (even though the focus is on accounting and reporting).
