Responsibilities
Build and own Fundamental’s finance infrastructure including accounting, payroll, payments, and expense management systems (e.g. NetSuite/QuickBooks, Ramp, payroll platform)
Own the month-end close and financial reporting across all entities, in collaboration with external accountants to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Manage cash flow, forecasting, and treasury operations, providing clear visibility into company performance and runway
Partner with the leadership team on budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning to inform strategic and operational decisions
Develop and track key financial metrics, creating dashboards and reports that translate data into actionable insight
Oversee compliance across U.S. and European entities, coordinating with external advisors on tax, accounting, and local statutory requirements
Continuously improve and automate financial processes to enhance speed, accuracy, and scalability, with proper documentation for accountability
Requirements
6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A, ideally combining experience in investment banking with hands-on work in a high-growth tech or VC-backed startup
Strong command of accounting principles (U.S. GAAP; bonus points for IFRS) and operational finance
Proven ability to design and implement scalable finance systems and processes that bring structure without slowing execution
Experience managing multi-entity operations and coordinating with external accountants, auditors, and advisors across jurisdictions
Comfortable working autonomously in a distributed environment with minimal structure
Detail-oriented, rigorous, and pragmatic; you value speed and precision equally
