About the role

  • Data Analyst/Curator integrating machine learning for higher education. Collaborating with clients and teams to enhance data infrastructure and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough data inspections, identifying and resolving data inconsistencies with precision and accountability
  • Develop and tailor data processing pipelines and creative feature engineering to uniquely fit each client’s requirements
  • Build and maintain configuration files, data, and automation scripts
  • Build, validate, and troubleshoot predictive data science models in collaboration with the Data Science team using internal tools and metrics
  • Communicate technical data requirements, project timelines, and updates to both internal and external stakeholders (both written and verbally)
  • Serve as an authority and consultant alongside the Client Success team to guide new clients through implementation and existing clients through data updates
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, resolve issues, and optimize delivery of new and existing products and internal tools
  • Automate or help automate as many manual data analysis activities as possible

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in math, computer science, business analytics and information systems or another relevant field required (advanced degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated related experience may substitute for preferred education.
  • Advanced proficiency/fluency in SQL query writing and debugging.
  • Proficiency in Git/Github and version control methodologies.
  • Familiarity with using AI (artificial intelligence) and LLM (large language models) to improve efficiency and workflows.
  • Ability to learn new software and technologies.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into client-friendly insights both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience operating in a consultative approach in client and internal interactions, employing active listening, summarization, and context-setting.
  • Willingness to assist other team members and drive innovation to improve personal and team-wide efficiency and growth.
  • Proven success in independently troubleshooting and resolving data and configuration issues.
  • Experience in applying and documenting methodical approaches to debugging and root cause analysis.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects or tasks at once, including setting and communicating appropriate timelines, prioritization, and risk or updates throughout the life of the project.
  • Desire to deliver outputs and deliverables with accuracy and attention to detail.
