Responsibilities
Deliver motor and drive unit electrical and software interface definition.
Define system functional requirements.
Support test and validation of Ford ADVEV products.
Work cross-functionally with hardware and software engineering teams to ensure hardware and software feature maturity is fit for testing.
Ensure testing is completed in time to support program milestones.
Ensure that the propulsion system meets feature attributes, performance, regulatory, safety, and drivability requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
5+ years of experience in systems design, systems architecture, and powertrain systems integration.
Strong electrical and systems engineering fundamentals.
Working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, powertrain technologies, software/hardware tool development, and motor calibration technologies.
A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechanical engineering (even better, you may have...)
3+ years of experience in electric powertrain system development and understanding of the intricacies of the system design.
3+ years of experience in integrating and calibrating powertrain control systems (e.g., e-motors, transmissions, engines, drivelines, etc.).
Experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
Proficiency in using testing tools and software (e.g., diagnostic tools, CANalyzer, Vspy, Vision, etc.)
Proficiency in fundamentals of vehicle architecture, embedded systems design, RTOSes and real-time networking.
Experience in designing and launching new embedded products (concept-to-production).
Vehicle track and performance testing experience.
Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, and electric motor controls.
