About the role

  • Business Operations Director leading strategy execution and operational excellence for Ford’s regulated European bank. Shaping future banking markets across UK and Europe with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategy implementation and execution across all markets, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and in partnership with in-market General Managers.
  • Provide a strategic oversight for the UK and Southern Europe in marketing, sales, insurance operations, and Retail Deposits.
  • Accelerate delivery on strategic initiatives by solving problems, creating strong collaboration across teams and by tracking progress made with strong discipline
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, providing insights and recommendations for operational excellence.
  • Oversee end to end operations including marketing, brand, insurance, IT, Risk, Compliance, Finance and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of programs and initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify and mitigate operational risks across all markets.
  • Ensure process optimisation and continuous improvement across all markets.
  • Foster an entrepreneurial mindset to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities.
  • Partner with Leaders on cultural transformation initiatives aligned with Ford+ objectives, promoting modernisation and disruption through coaching & teaching.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration and achieve strategic goals.
  • Champion leadership development and capability building partnering with the in-market General Managers to create a culture of innovation, agility, and customer-centricity.

  • Leadership, Influence, and Coaching: Trusted advisor to senior leadership, using data‑driven storytelling, market insights, and internal and external factors to shape clear recommendations. Experienced in coaching and empowering others to drive innovation and organisational modernisation.
  • Operational Excellence and Analytical Problem-Solving: Strong oversight of end-to-end operations —such as marketing, sales, insurance, IT, risk, compliance, or finance—ensuring seamless programme execution. Skilled in monitoring key performance indicators, identifying operational risks, and resolving complex challenges to accelerate delivery on strategic initiatives.
  • Collaboration, Relationship Building, and Communication: Builds robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and achieve strategic goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels and articulating insights clearly.
  • Process Optimisation, Continuous Improvement, and Accountability: Committed to driving process efficiency, optimising workflows, and championing continuous improvement across all markets.

Benefits

  • This position is based in Dunton (Basildon) and it is expected the successful candidate will be able to attend the Dunton Campus for typically 4 days a week and remain flexible on the days they are required to attend the office according to business requirements.
