About the role

  • Audio Software System Engineer contributing to software integration in Ford’s infotainment system. Collaborating with teams to enhance audio experiences and resolving integration issues.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the end-to-end software integration and delivery of the audio subsystem within Ford's infotainment system.
  • Work in concert with audio subject matter experts across multidisciplinary development teams.
  • Involved in media playback, AM/FM/HD/DAB and SiriusXM audio tuners, chimes & alerts, voice recognition, handsfree telephony, Active Noise Control, propulsion sound enhancement and pedestrian sounders.
  • Problem solving including reviewing CAN, A2B and other network logs.
  • Daily software defect meetings for exterior supplied ECUs.
  • Maintain a prioritized JIRA backlog of all defects, implementation stories, and change requests for use in sprint planning.
  • Support program meetings as required with Design & Release or Applications engineers.
  • Stay up to date on audio technologies and automotive audio trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with automotive radio and infotainment software system design
  • Experience delivering radio/infotainment features using agile scrum methodology.
  • Experience in CAN log analysis and system level troubleshooting
  • Master’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field (even better)
  • Knowledge of A2B digital audio bus operation and log analysis (even better)
  • Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills (even better)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment. (even better)
  • Willingness to travel as needed to train and support model engineering teams (even better).
