About the role
- Accountant analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports for Flowserve. Involves month-end closing processes, general ledger analysis, and collaboration with the General Accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Actively participating in assigned accounting and month-end closing processes under US-GAAP
- Performing Accounting activities with the team
- Providing a daily and monthly reports and assisting colleagues from the General Accounting team
- Performing month-end closings, general ledger account analysis and Balance Sheet account reconciliations, preparing SOX controls
- Continuous contact with vendors, customers regarding fixed asset issues
- Assisting with the resolution of issues that could impact the timely month-end closing
- Collating documentation for Intercompany payments: Invoice copies, customs documents, in cooperation with supplying sites
- Collaborating with Operations to get Interco invoices corrected where there are discrepancies with the purchase order
- Supporting the payment process for triangular drop shipments from the Interco supplier directly to the customer (outside of Morocco)
- Collating documentation for VAT recovery filings
- Any other (ad hoc) accounting or administration tasks
Requirements
- English at a conversation level is required.
- Basic accounting knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with stakeholders
- Confident user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Basic knowledge and experience using ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP) is an advantage
- Keen on building positive relationships
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility and ability to cope with process changes.
