About the role
- Fund Tax Accountant joining SS&C to support Australian Tax Services with compliance and client deliverables. Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to tax projects effectively.
Responsibilities
- Support the Australian Tax team in delivering accurate and timely tax tasks.
- Assist in preparing tax compliance calculations, including distribution calculations, tax provisions, AIIR, income tax returns, investor statements, and BAS returns using software and Excel.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Fund Accounting, Investment Relations, and FATCA to complete tax-related tasks.
- Ensure strict adherence to operational compliance and risk management policies.
- Contribute to projects by testing and refining tax templates and processes.
- Participate in internal and external tax training sessions as required to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Handle assigned client portfolios and respond to clients’ queries in a timely manner with limited supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration/Management, Economics, or Commerce.
- 2-3 years’ experience in fund/corporate tax (preferred) or audit with tax exposure, gained within a professional services, financial services firm, or another fund administrator.
- Qualified CA/CPA certificate or near completion
- Proactive and enthusiastic mindset, eager to learn, with confidence in seeking guidance when necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results with exceptional attention to detail and teamwork skills, proven through academic achievements or professional experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively.
