About the role

  • Manager leading and evolving learning programs at Five9, a cloud contact center software provider. Partnering with leaders to enhance employee growth and drive learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a culture of continuous learning by promoting self-directed development, knowledge sharing, and growth across the organization.
  • Consult and partner with business leaders and People Partners to assess learning needs, identify skill gaps, and prioritize learning initiatives aligned to business objectives.
  • Stay current on L&D trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, integrating relevant approaches into learning strategies and program design.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of learning programs, including new-hire onboarding, employee development, and compliance training, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Guide the creation and curation of engaging, relevant learning content, leveraging modern, scalable instructional design approaches across virtual, in-person, and hybrid environments.
  • Build and manage relationships with external vendors and partners to extend internal capabilities and deliver specialized learning solutions.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using learner feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, driving continuous improvement and data-informed enhancements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure learning initiatives are integrated with broader people and business programs.
  • Drive a cohesive learning ecosystem, ensuring learning systems and platforms work together to deliver a seamless and positive employee experience.
  • Provide strategic oversight of learning systems (e.g., Degreed, Docebo), partnering with IT and other stakeholders on governance, enhancements, reporting, and adoption.
  • Coach, develop, and support L&D team members, setting clear expectations and ensuring high-quality delivery of onboarding and e-learning solutions.
  • Review metrics, learner insights, and program outcomes to guide team priorities, inform decisions, and recommend continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in corporate and/or tech-industry learning and development roles, with a demonstrated track record of creating and implementing successful leadership development programs
  • Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training delivery techniques
  • Deep familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), learning experience systems (LXPs), and e-learning platforms such as Articulate 360 or others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various levels of leadership and employees.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align learning initiatives with business objectives
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Analytical mindset to assess training effectiveness and make data-driven improvements
  • Professional certifications in training and development, instructional design, or related areas are a plus
